After 93 Years of Cricket, India Achieves Historic Milestone with 922 International Wins

Team India made history by winning the two-match Test series against the West Indies 2-0, clinching the final match by 7 wickets in Delhi. This victory was momentous as it was Team India’s first Test series win under the captaincy of Shubman Gill and the first home Test series triumph since October 2024, marking a significant chapter in Indian cricket history.

With this win, India has moved past England to claim the position of second-highest winners in international cricket history. India’s total international match wins now stand at 922, surpassing England’s 921 victories. Australia remains at the top with 1,158 wins.

India played its first international Test match in 1932, and over 93 years has participated in 596 Test matches, achieving 185 wins and 186 losses. Overall, India has played 1,066 international matches across formats, winning 567 and losing 445. In the T20 format, India has played 254 matches with 170 wins and only 71 losses.

Pakistan ranks fourth with 831 international wins, followed by South Africa at fifth with 719. The West Indies have 710 wins placing them sixth, Sri Lanka is seventh with 637, and New Zealand eighth with 634 victories.

This milestone reflects India’s steady rise and stature in world cricket, highlighting a legacy built over nearly a century of perseverance and excellence.
