The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has begun installing signage boards to provide information about local monthly and annual passes.
NHAI toll plaza signage board: On Friday, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) began installing signage boards at toll plazas to provide more transparent information to the public. As part of this initiative, complete information about local monthly and annual passes will now be displayed at every toll plaza. NHAI stated that this initiative aims to raise awareness among the public.
So that they can learn about where these passes are issued, their prices, and the process for obtaining them. All this information has been displayed through signage boards at the entry gates of toll plazas, customer service centers, and exit points, making it easily visible to all visitors.
NHAI informed
NHAI has informed that this initiative will increase public awareness about local monthly and annual passes. These signage boards will be displayed in Hindi and local languages.
NHAI has also directed all its regional offices to install these boards at toll plazas within 30 days. The information should be clearly visible both day and night. NHAI will also upload this information on the Highway Yatra mobile application and NHAI-related project websites.
What are monthly local passes and annual passes?
For monthly local passes, those who live within 20 kilometers (or a fixed distance) of any toll plaza and travel daily in their personal vehicle can obtain a monthly local pass. To obtain the pass, they will need to provide their Aadhaar card, vehicle registration certificate, and proof of local residence. The toll plaza helpdesk will then generate the monthly pass.
For annual passes, you will need to make a one-time payment of ₹3,000. You can purchase the annual pass through the HighwayTravel app or through FASTag recharge. The annual pass allows you to cross the toll plaza for one year or 200 times. The annual pass is available only for private vehicles.
